1st Annual Benefit Ride for DJ Robinson
Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013
Let’s send DJ to the “2013 USA PARA Track National Championships” at the Home Depot Velodrome in Carson City, CA in November. If he wins the National Championships in his favorite events, next stop will be Rio de Janiero in 2016 as a member of the USA Paralympic Cycling National Team!!!
Location: Lafayette Village at the TLC for Bikes shop parking lot.
Time: Socializing: 8:00 AM Ride begins: 8:30AM
Cost: Suggested Tax Deductible $20 Donation with PayPal on www.raisingcane.org. From the Raising Cane home page proceed to “Athletes”, where you will see DJ as a sponsored athlete & you can make your donation on that page. Checks written to Raising Cane will also be accepted on the day of the event.
Course: 100Km (62 miles). Course will be marked with TLC paint/logo & maps will be available. The loop goes around Falls Lake & back. Most people are well familiar with this route & it is both challenging & fun. There will be TLC staff riders to encourage “civility”. We figure two distinct groups of riders: the “B” group of 14-17 MPH, and the “A” group of 18 to 20+ MPH. Ride according to your abilities. This is a no-drop ride, regardless of which group you ride with.
Extras: Besides a wonderful ride, what else would you get for $20? How about a “free lunch” after the ride? There will be a free lunch sponsored by Lafayette Village. Food should begin around 11:30AM. Vegetarian options available. Come & chat with DJ! Please take the time to discover the wonderful businesses of Lafayette Village. If you have never been to Lafayette Village, you will be pleasantly surprised by the entire concept.
